New in 2013 - STOKE MINSTER ORGAN SCHOOL

A series of Saturday morning training sessions for 'reluctant organists' to be run by Jonathan Hill at Stoke Minster. More....

YOUNG VOICES FESTIVAL: Tuesday 5th March 2013.

Primary school children from Years 5 & 6 taught by Jonathan Hill will be taking part in a Young Voices Festival at Stoke Minster. They will be preparing music in school ready for the Festival when they will come together for an afternoon at Stoke Minster, ending with a service based on the theme of 'The Bread of Life'.

ORGAN SCHOLAR APPOINTED FOR STOKE MINSTER

Stoke Minster has apointed an Organ Scholar for the academic year 2012-13. Mathew Blackhurst, a music student at Keele University, will work alongside the Stoke Minster's Director of Music, Jonathan Hill, gaining experience in all aspects of the work of an organist in a traditional Anglican church music setting.

ASSOCIATED BOARD EXAM SUCCESSES

Congratulations to pupils who achieved success in the Summer period exams of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music: Tom Campbell, Grade 6 Piano (with merit) and Naomi Walker, Grade 4 Piano (with merit).

Inspection success for Moorlands school

Congratulations to St Werburgh's C.E. Primary School, Kingsley in the Staffordshire Moorlands, one of the schools where Jonathan Hill teaches curriculum music. In a recent OFSTED inspection, the school was judged OUTSTANDING in all categories.

Organ Open Day at Stoke Minster

 

A steady stream of visitors came to see, hear and play the Minster organ. Some had booked in advance, and others came on spec. Jonathan was busy demonstrating the organ and talking to visitors for four and a half hours.
